Think mind-boggling, but on a blog! I know this sounds nuts, but who said anything about ME being normal to begin with?! hehe
Anyway, I've been in a mode of reflection lately. I've been thinking 'bout lots of different things, namely where I've been in life, where I am now, and where I'm headed next. I've had a chance to reflect on the challenges and successes of living at home, being away at college and "on my own". I've also had multiple chances to be reminded of the great things God has done in my life and in the lives of others around me. It goes without saying that I have been blessed many more times that I could count!
There's a big difference between being blessed and being lucky. Blessings are ordained by God, while luck is a man-made vice (think lottery tickets, sweepstakes, etc.). Ever heard the phrase, "Blessed and highly favored"? Well, I'm convinced that being blessed and experiencing the favor of God do go hand in hand.
What is favor? Favor is the special love or affection of God toward you that releases an influence on you, so that others are inclined to like you or to cooperate with you. If I wanted to use my own definition, it is God's hand upon your life that allows unexpected things to happen in your life that you may or may not deserve.
Favor should not be taken for granted. It is a unique gift that only God can give. You will be amazed by some of the "surprises" that favor with God brings about. It is a unique experience with God that I have had the great pleasure to experience. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve what God does for and through me, but He has a specific purpose in mind...
By the way, that is NOT what I intended to write in this blog! The Spirit just took over and I just continued to type what He spoke to me. Maybe I will jump back on later and share some more thoughts with you.
